Role Description The Managing Director Finance is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing financial strategy, performance, and governance across key business units. This role leads financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation to support sustainable growth and regulatory compliance. The Managing Director Finance collaborates with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives, including M&A activities, and ensures effective financial risk management and reporting. Daily responsibilities include managing finance teams, optimizing financial processes, advising on complex transactions, and aligning financial objectives with ING’s broader business and sustainability goals. The role also involves partnering with stakeholders across geographies to support decision-making and continuous improvement in financial operations.\n
Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Finance and Financial Services, with a track record of leading complex financial functions in a large, regulated organization.

• Advanced proficiency in Accounting, including financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

• Demonstrated capability in Strategic Planning, with experience translating business objectives into actionable financial strategies.
\n
• Hands-on experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), including valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, and integration planning.
\n
• Relevant academic background such as a master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are an advantage.

• Proven leadership skills, including the ability to manage remote teams, influence senior stakeholders, and foster a culture of integrity and performance.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
\n
• Experience in digital or innovation-driven financial environments and familiarity with sustainability-focused finance is highly beneficial.
