Job Description

A Different Kind of Work Opportunity

Not everyone enjoys punching a time clock, working under constant supervision, or doing the same thing day after day.

We're looking for a dependable, self-motivated individual to help maintain and improve a large private property in Austin, Arkansas.

This position offers much of the freedom of working for yourself, without the hassle of finding customers or chasing your next job.

You'll have the independence to manage your own schedule, plan your work, and take ownership of projects. We value good judgment, initiative, and quality work over rigid schedules and constant supervision.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

  • Independence: Work with minimal supervision and the freedom to approach projects your own way.
  • Flexibility: Set your own hours around personal commitments, with plenty of work available.
  • Variety: Enjoy equipment operation, groundskeeping, property improvements, and a wide range of hands-on projects.
  • A Better Pace: Work on a private property without demanding customers, production quotas, or constantly changing job sites.
  • Mutual Respect: Work directly with an approachable property owner who values your input, encourages initiative, and provides the resources to get things done.

Who We're Looking For

We're more interested in your attitude, dependability, and willingness to take initiative than an impressive résumé.

The right person takes pride in their work, enjoys solving practical problems, and can manage their responsibilities without constant direction. You don't need to know everything, but you should have a solid foundation of practical skills and a willingness to learn.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic experience operating skid steers and mini-excavators.
  • Ability to perform routine equipment servicing, recognize common mechanical issues, and handle basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with landscaping, lawn care, and general property maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and exercise good judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience operating and maintaining construction equipment.
  • Class A or B CDL, ideally with experience driving tandem-axle dump trucks equipped with 13-speed manual transmissions.
  • Basic diesel truck maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • General construction, carpentry, or other hands-on trade experience.

How It Works

You'll coordinate directly with the property owner to discuss ongoing projects and establish priorities. From there, you'll have the freedom to organize your schedule, plan your work, and determine the best way to accomplish those goals.

The owner values initiative, welcomes suggestions, and is available to provide guidance or resources when needed.

Compensation

$18–$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Starting pay will reflect your existing skills and credentials, with higher rates available for experienced equipment operators and applicants holding a Class A or B CDL.

If you enjoy working with your hands, thinking for yourself, and having the freedom to take pride in what you accomplish, we'd love to hear from you.
